Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?
Some time ago, I talked to a wonderful Christian lady in regard to her evangelistic endeavors. She told me how her church has formed groups of people to go and proclaim the gospel. She then uttered a sentence that I will never forget. “God does what he can”. God does what he can! I was shocked to hear that, I always thought that God is ALMIGHTY and all powerful. What did she mean by that? When we finished our conversation I understood what she meant.
What this wonderful lady believes, is that God desperately wants people to be saved, unfortunately he is not able to bring about the result that he is seeking, so he does what he can.
I am of a school of thought that believes God does as he pleases. There is nothing that he cannot do. His will and desires come to pass regardless of humanity’s wishes.
Isaiah 14:24 …As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed so shall it stand.
Isaiah 46:10, 11 …My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose…I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.
Jeremiah 32:27 … Is anything too hard for me?
If we believe the way this lady believes our answer to this question should be: yes, because he is not able to bring to pass what He desires.
Ephesian 1:5 …who works all things according to the counsel of his will;
When we consider these verses we get a picture that indeed God accomplishes what he desires. There is nothing impossible for God. He does as he pleases, he never learns anything, never comes to any conclusions. If we ever come to a conclusion that God is not able to do something, then we have a wrong premise. We always need to keep this in mind.
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY
